How do search engines work?

Search engine works in 3 steps

1) Crawling

In the first step, according to the sitemap given by the website, the search engine sends its robot to the page or post.

Google, Bing, Yahoo are called Google Bot, Bing Bot, Yahoo Bot respectively. In the second step, the robot will crawl the content or page or post of your website.

Search engine robots crawl and put all the information in the database. GoogleBot puts it in Google’s database.

The crawler or spider crawls as soon as you update the page.

2) Indexing

Search engine robot crawling means indexing the page. Simply put, suppose you have a grocery store and now all you have to do is index the price of the food.

3) Provide results

When an Internet user searches with a keyword in the search bar, the search engine bot brings the relevant result of that keyword from the millions of search results indexed by its database to the front of the search through Google algorithm.

Things you need to know about SEO:

Keywords:

The keyword is the word / term with which you search Google ঐ Google shows results according to your search intensity from millions of target websites. The name of the searched word is keyword.

If you can find the keywords of good search volume according to your niche, you will get good traffic as well as your niche business or Google Adsense business.

In fact, good keyword research is at the root of everything. You need to find keywords that are low-competitive according to your niche. Low-competitive keywords can easily rank, so such keywords are very important.

Let’s know what you need to know in on-page SEO?

1) Make a good headline:

The quality of good headlines should be such;

  • People will want to read the title
  • First there will be primary keywords
  • Also supportive keywords.

2) Shorten the URL:

If you keep the URL of your post or page short, you will get good benefits for SEO. For example, if you use on-page-seo-checklist without on-page-seo-checklist-guideline, then it is correct and this is the correct practice.

3) Use keywords in the URL:

You must use the main keyword in your URL. I want to keep it as small as possible.

4) SEO title and meta description:

SEO titles and meta descriptions will increase your site’s CTR. As a result you will get more traffic to your website. Things to keep in mind for him;

– SEO title should not be more than 60 characters.

-Meta description should be kept below 160 characters or 155-156 characters.

– Put the primary keyword first and the supporting keyword in the title.

5) Table of Content:

If you put the content of the table in the post, then Usara can see what is in the content at the beginning of the content. This will give you extra benefits in SEO. So you can use the table of content plus plugin for this.

6) Put keywords in specific words of the content:

At the beginning of the content, you must put your main keyword in the first 100-150 words. If possible, you can put it in h2 and use it once in the end.

7) Use in keyword heading title:

8) LSI keyword usage:

You cannot use the main keyword over and over again in the content so you can use the LSI keyword according to the needs of the content. For LSI keywords you have LSI graph; You can use Ubersuggest or keyword everywhere.

9) Keyword Density:

In the content you will use the main keyword once or twice in 1000 words.

10) Image optimization:

Image you have height 800 * width 1200 but keep the image below 100 kb. For that you reduce the kb by compressing the image. You can use wp smesh plugin to compress images.

11) Image alt tag:

The image must use the alt tag.

12) External link:

Provide an external link to the Authority website that matches your keywords. In case of external link, give 5-6 links to the site.

13) Internal link:

In the case of internal links, interlink with a word so that search engines can understand that the content of that word is on your website. For example, if you internally link to offpage SEO, then the search engine understands that you have a content with offpage SEO. So in the case of Interlink, this issue must be kept in mind.

Content:

Currently, if you want to do SEO, you need content on the blog / site. So you need good content to get good rank. Let’s not know what is needed in content;

1. Keywords:

Keywords must be in the first 100/150 words. Also include meta descriptions and meta titles and URLs. Content body cannot be kept more than 2 times in 1000 words.

2. Originality:

Content must be 100 percent unique. Copy content cannot be in any way.

3. Content size:

Content size must be larger than your competitor. However, do not go into great detail to increase the content.

4. Internal and external links:

Of course, you have to link internally to all the posts or pages that are relevant to the content.

In case of external link, you must give the link to the relevant site.

5. Tags:

The content must use h1, h2, h3 tags. Put keywords in the tag if possible.

6. Image optimized:

To optimize the image, you must put an alt tag on the image.

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is a big factor in your ranking. Although technical SEO is not a very difficult subject. Today I will give you a technical SEO checklist and discuss it;

1) Having Crawl Error:

Having a crawl error means that Google can’t see any pages or posts on your site. If Google can’t access any of your pages or posts, that page or post will never rank.

2) Find out how Google looks at your web page:

Occasionally visitors can see your site’s page but Google can’t. If this is the case then Google will not rank your page.

So I recommend you to use the “Inspect URL” feature in Google Search Console. You can check your page in Google Search Console with “Inspect URL”. Is your important page indexed in Google?

After giving the URL in GSC, if the message “URL is on Google” comes along with “Submitted and index” in the coverage.

3) Make sure your website is mobile friendly?

There is an option called Mobile First Index in Google Search Console. This means that if your site is not optimized on mobile, you will have trouble ranking on Google.

You can check with google mobile friendly test to know this.

4) Broken link:

Broken links can do a lot of damage to your SEO. So you must fix the broken link. For this you can use Chrome or Firefox extension called broken link checker.

5) Secure your website via HTTPS:

HTTPS acts as a Google ranking signal. SSL enables HTTPS to work on your site, so if your site does not have SSL, use SSL quickly. You can use SSL for free or you can buy paid SSL or you can use it for free through cloud flare.

6) Page loading speed:

Ranking depends on the loading speed of your website. If the loading speed of your website is not good, you will not be able to rank well. So check the page speed with Google’s Lighthouse Free Chrome extension (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/) and fix the speed issue as needed.

Off page SEO:

Offpage SEO is the process of linking to a relevant website to improve your website’s ranking in search engines and to bring more organic traffic.

There are usually two types of backlinks:

Do-follow backlinks: These links are authorized from one page to another. This authority again has link juice.
